Cigar Accessories

Accessory Importance

Whether a beginner or enthusiast , know that smoking a fine cigar is a ritual that demands the right accessories to fully enjoy the experience. A good cigar deserves a good home, and that's where the cigar accessories come in. Cigar accessories are not only practical tools, but they also add style and sophistication to your smoking experience.

First and foremost, a good cutter is essential to ensure that your cigar is cut cleanly and evenly. A poor cut can ruin the cigar's taste and aroma, which is why a quality cutter is a must-have for any cigar enthusiast. Whether it's a guillotine, punch or V-cut, the right cutter can make all the difference.

A cigar lighter is a device that is used to ignite a cigar. It can come in various styles and designs, ranging from basic to high-end. Cigar lighters usually run on butane fuel, and the flame is adjustable so you can control the size and strength of the flame.

Then comes the ashtray. A good ashtray provides a stable and safe place to put your cigar down when not smoking. Not only that, but it also helps to keep the ash and debris from falling on your clothes or furniture. Ashtrays come in a variety of styles, from classic crystal to sleek modern designs, so you can find one that suits your taste.

A cigar holder is also a great accessory to have. It allows you to rest your cigar on the holder without having to hold it in your hand constantly. This is especially useful if you need to put your cigar down for a moment, but don't want it to go out or an ashtray is not readily available.

In short, cigar accessories are not only practical, but they also add a touch of style and sophistication to your cigar smoking ritual. So, invest in quality accessories and elevate your smoking experience to new heights.

Making The Cut

Different Cigar Cuts

Cigar cutters have been used since the 1800s, and the guillotine cutter, named after the French execution device, was invented in the early 1900s. Punch cutters were developed later in the century, followed by V-cutters and scissors.

The perfect cut is essential to unlocking the full flavor and aroma of your cigar. That's why a cigar cutter is more than just a tool - it's a key to unlocking the full potential of your smoke.

Imagine you're holding a prized cigar, the wrapper glistening with oils and the aroma already tantalizing your senses. Now, imagine trying to cut it with a dull or inadequate cutter. The results can be disastrous: uneven or jagged cuts, a damaged wrapper, and a ruined smoking experience.

But fear not, the right cigar cutter can make all the difference. Whether it's a classic guillotine, a V-cut, or a punch, a quality cigar cutter will ensure a clean and precise cut every time. Not only does this enhance the flavor and aroma of your cigar, but it also ensures a smooth and consistent draw, allowing you to enjoy every moment of your smoke.

So, the next time you light up, remember the importance of a good cigar cutter. It's not just a tool, but a key to unlocking the full potential of your smoking experience. Choose wisely and savor the flavor.

Light Please

Know Your Flame

The first cigar lighter was invented in the 1930s and used a wick and oil to produce a flame. Butane lighters were introduced in the 1960s and quickly became popular due to their convenience and ease of use.

Note:  Anticipate the first draw.  When lighting a cigar, either torch, lighter, or matches, use the very tip of the flame.  Take your time and light slow with a circulation of the cigar.  Once you have a full even burn glow, pull the first draw.  The key is to not over burn or char the cigar.  You don't want to disrupt the natural flavors and profile of your cigar experience.

  • Cigar Torch: A cigar torch is a type of lighter that produces a narrow, high-intensity flame, which makes it perfect for lighting cigars. It typically runs on butane fuel and is easy to use. Torch lighters are great for outdoor smoking since they are wind-resistant and often have a large fuel capacity.

  • Cigar Lighter: A cigar lighter is a device that is used to ignite a cigar. It can come in various styles and designs, ranging from basic to high-end. Cigar lighters usually run on butane fuel, and in some cases, the flame is adjustable so you can control the size and strength of the flame.

  • Matches: Wooden matches have been used to light cigars for many years. They are easy to use and have a unique charm that many cigar enthusiasts enjoy. Matches are also useful for lighting cigars when you want to take your time and appreciate the overall smoking experience.

Humidor For Sure

Care and Maintenance

Value your cigars and the environment they are stored in. One of the most important tools is the cigar humidor, a device used to maintain a stable environment for our precious cigars.

Maintaining your cigars in the right conditions is crucial to preserving their quality and taste. That's where a cigar humidor comes in. But once you've invested in a humidor, how do you take care of it?

First, make sure to keep your humidor in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and any sources of heat or humidity. You'll also want to keep it clean, wiping it down regularly with a damp cloth to prevent any mold or bacteria from growing.

Next, it's important to season your humidor before storing your cigars in it. This involves adding distilled water to a humidification device, such as a sponge or gel, and leaving it inside the humidor for at least 24 hours. This will ensure that the wood inside the humidor absorbs the moisture it needs to maintain a stable humidity level.

Once your humidor is properly seasoned, you can add your cigars. Make sure to monitor the humidity level regularly, using a hygrometer to ensure it stays between 65-70%. You may need to add more distilled water to your humidification device or replace it altogether if it starts to dry out.

By properly caring for your humidor, you can ensure that your cigars stay in optimal condition for longer, allowing you to enjoy them to their fullest potential. So invest in a quality humidor and take care of it, and your cigars will thank you for it.
